Halloween Zombies 2017

There is magic in the night when pumpkins glow by moonlight.

Happy Halloween! I wanted a fun goofy concept and was drawing a blank, it’s usually the only time of year I attempt hand drawn nailart. When I saw these nail plates on Whatsupnails, it gave ideas and this is it…..more or less.

Polishes used for gradient Pure Ice Shore Bet (base) Zoya Pippa, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sun Kissed, Pure Ice Rumors, Essie Stylenomics, Essie Kimono-over, Anise Sea Gypsy.

Stamped With Lina Spooklicious 01 plate & Whats Up Nail A012 plate using polishes China Glaze Best Ponies Forever & OPI Silver Canvas.

Halloween Stripes 2016

Happy Independence Day 2017

Hello Everyone! This post is long overdue, but what else is new. This was the nail art I did, I wasn’t satisfied with my hand writing from my previous nailart, so I ordered a Uber Chic Alphabet and Number nail plates. Now doesn’t this look better?

Happy Emancipation Day Jamaica 2017!

Hello Everyone! Happy Emancipation Day! Whenever this time of year rolls around and i’m homesick to the extreme, and since this and Independence day fall within the same week so it’s normally a week long celebration. So i’m celebrating my way with nail art of course. See previous years mani for a mini history lesson.

Halloween Pumpkin Forest 2016

Hello  Everyone! Happy Halloween! This is the only time of year I attempt to hand draw my nail art concept. I Sponged on several layers of blue, gray and green as a base, but it looked a little one dimensional and nature never is. So I added a yellow and a darker green to give it some life, I also used polishes with shimmer to simulate moonlight.

Happy Emancipation Day Jamaica!

Hello Everyone, While i’m not in Jamaica to celebrate but I find i’m appreciating freedom lately and what it means to be truly free. August 1, 1834 marked a special day for Africans in British colonies it was the day they received freedom from slavery.

So to start out the week long celebration with a Jamaican flag inspired ribbon like watermarble.

In Jamaica, the Emancipation Declaration was read from the steps of the Old Kings House in Spanish Town, St Catherine, the country’s capital at the time.
The bill for the abolition of slavery in the British colonies received the royal assent on August 28,1838. It stated:

Be it enacted, that all and every one of the persons who on the first day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty four, shall be holden in slavery within such British colony as aforesaid, shall, upon and from and after the said first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-four, become and be to all intents and purposes free and discharged from all manner of slavery, and shall be absolutely and forever manumitted.
The passage of this bill in the British Parliament in England enabled approximately 311,000 enslaved Africans in Jamaica and hundreds of thousands more across the colonies the freedom for which many of their predecessors had fought and died. However, the Africans did not receive full freedom until four years later, as all slaves over six years old were subjected to a mandatory six-year period of apprenticeship. The ex-slaves would work – without pay – for their former masters for three-quarters of the week (40 hours), in exchange for lodging, food, clothing. medical attendance and grounds on which they could grow their own provisions. They could also, if they chose, hire themselves out for additional wages during the remaining quarter of the week. With this money, an ex-slave could then buy his freedom.

​ A-England Polish Swatches

Hello Everyone! I’ve always wanted to get these polishes, no idea what I was waiting on, I came across them on sale at whatsupnails.com for $7:35 the usual price is $10. Yay who doesn’t love a sale.

I somehow narrowed it down to 6 polishes, from different collections i’ve included the collection names that if like Pokemon you wanna catch them all you can. The formula for these are awesome, they apply so well, not streaky or patchy at all.

Rose Bower (Collection: To Emily Bronte): is a beautiful shimmering red polish, the holo effect is very subtle but still lovely. This is two coats with a topcoat.

Briar Rose (Collection: Burne-Jones Dream): is and interesting color and hard to described, it’s red, but looks almost pink with a very fine holographic shimmer that looks very subtle.

Dragon (Collection: The Legend): is a forest green holographic polish and hands down my favorite.

Spirit of the Moors (Collection: To Emily Bronte): Is a beautiful blue polish with very fine silver holographic shimmer. oh and these stain nails so double up on basecoat. This is two coats with a topcoat.

Crown of Thistles (Collection: Elizabeth and Mary): Is a beautiful deep purple, you could get away with one coat, but I did two to let the holo effect really come through and it’s close for favorite.

Excalibur Renaissance (Collection: The Mythicals): Is a silver foil polish, it’s one of the smoothest silver polishes I have. It’s not streaky but can get that that way if you go over it with excessive strokes. I can stamp with it, watermarble with it, can be a one coater but this is two coats.

Do I want more? you betcha!
